Clos de Nouys is the essence of dry Vouvray and this 25 acre estate is found just outside the eponymous sleepy village, where they are the masters of Chenin Blanc. This is as good and affordable as... Chenin Blanc gets. On the palate this is dry, full bodied and with a hint of flinty minerality and fantastic acidity for a clean finish that suits seafood perfectly.

Domaine Anne-Francoise Gros, En Mortperay, Moulin-a-Vent 2019
On the nose it has summer red berry fruit fused with iris and violet. Vibrant and lively palate where the core of red berry fruit is supported by ripe, juicy tannins and a silky-smooth finish.

Errazuriz, Wild Ferment Chardonnay, Casablanca Valley 2020
Full-bodied and rich, with creamy ripe fruit and toasty, spicy oak. Straw yellow colour with greenish hues. Notes of citrus fruits, melon and white stone fruits. On the palate, citrus and soft notes... of tropical fruits, with a delicate lovely creaminess. Fresh, long and unbelievably well balanced. Complex and elegant.

Harvested from the 'La Escultura Estate,' located just 32 km from the Pacific Ocean, where cool sea breezes help preserve the freshness in the grapes; coupled with warm days allows for gradual ripening of the grapes which helps preserve their aromas, flavours and acidity. The use of native naturally occurring yeasts, allowing natural fermentation and the subtle use of 10% French oak, result in a wine that is unbelievably well balanced. Enjoy it over the next two to three years to experience further integration of oak and fruit.

Most Sancerres these days are relatively young, simple, fresh offerings, for which merchants increasingly charge a pretty penny! This prestige cuvée from Joseph Mellot is from the 2017 vintage and... quite simply blew us away upon tasting.
From the Loire estate’s oldest vines on clay & limestone, this stunning wine has an opulent nose of quince, pear, citrus zest, white blossom, brioche & dried vanilla pod. On the palate this is richly profiled which a gorgeous texture, fresh acidity, and just a hint of smoke on the long, mouth-watering finish. This is a sublime white you simply must try.

Louis Jadot, Bourgogne Chardonnay Couvent des Jacobins 2020
One of the most trusted names in Burgundy, Louis Jadot make this excellent white Bourgogne with, unlike several of their wines, a good proportion of their own vineyard-grown fruit rather than bought... in grapes, from sites in the Côte d’Or & the Côte Chalonnaise.
Great structure, lively acidity on the finish, as well as touches of green apple, peach, white blossom and a little vanilla, thanks to part fermentation in wood, make this like a petit Meursault, in our opinion. A white burg bargain!

Mas Puech, Picpoul de Pinet 2022
This is a brilliant example of the Picpoul de Pinet grape. This South of France white wine has earnt its stripes amongst UK wine drinkers over the past decade and for good reason. Delicious crisp and... fresh citrus fruit flavours, with subtle floral notes and minerality.
This particular Picpoul from Mas Puech is fresh, elegant and the perfect addition for simple seafood dishes. Brilliant summer white.

Michael Chapoutier Alchemy La Combe Pilate, Viognier, Chapoutier 2019
Viognier is the Rhone's most famous white grape variety for which it is justifiably famous and Micheal Chapoutier's biodynamic Alchemy is a superb example. Jeb Dunnock, the region's best known critic... described it as "a mini Condrieu..but not so mini”
Micheal Chapoutier, best known for his iconic Hermitages, the visionary wine maker of the Northern Rhone bought this tiny vineyard, no bigger than most of our gardens, some 5 years ago. The plot is right next to his house and is the first plot he turned biodynamic, hence the label.
Chapoutier personally makes the wine by gently pressing whole bunches of grapes and leaving the juice on the lees (the skins) for a few days. The result is a dry, very fresh, full bodied viognier with hints of ripe peaches and orange blossom and a gorgeous flinty minerality and a savory finish.
For those of us who appreciate good viognier, this is a must buy – delicious on its own but if anything it is a food wine – from oysters and dover sole to mildly spicy dishes and all white meats. You will not be disappointed.

Billaud's Chardonnays lie at the mineral end of the Chablis spectrum, they are uncompromising and cerebral, as are the finest Chablis wines. His is a distinct style in which the wines have both a creamy, leesy weight while retaining a contrasting, linear, focused, mineral brightness. The freshness comes from both the right picking date and additional quality control through hand-harvesting.

Vignerons des Terres Secretes Saint Veran, Croix de Montceau 2018
Saint Véran has long had the reputation of being the most undervalued of all Burgundy’s white appellations and was the late Auberon Waugh’s ‘go to’ white wine. We have found a gem here with... Croix de Montceau from a south facing parcel of vines found on clay-limestone soil that date back to the Jurassic era. A wonderfully refreshing and exciting Saint Véran with excellent texture underscored by citrus, pineapple and floral flavours with just the right amount of minerality.

Vignerons des Terres Secretes, Pouilly-Fuisse, Les Preludes 2018
A glorious Pouilly-Fuissé from a single sloping plot of vines with a rich bedrock of limestone. Fermented equally in oak and temperature controlled stainless steel vats to give both concentration... and complexity. Delicate aromas of white flowers and citrus, with intense fruit and notes of hazelnuts, almonds, vanilla and flint. It has a lovely lingering finish and is a fantastic example of this famous appellation. All this at under £20 a bottle for a superb white Burgundy.
