Graham Beck, Brut Rose Vintage, Western Cape 2017

An excellent Vintage Rose where both varietals, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, were whole bunch pressed together – this award winning vintage proves its pedigree time and again in international wine... competitions. The Pinot Noir lends a noticeable blueberry-laden ripeness and subtle spiciness while the Chardonnay contributes creamy complexity. The delightful salmon-pink hue of the Vintage Rosé perfectly complements the sumptuous strawberry notes and rich creamy complexity on the palate. An explosion of raspberry fruit and slight honeysuckle flavours on the palate, with a persistent yet delicate mousse. Alc 12.7

Graham Beck, Brut, Western Cape NV

An excellent South African sparkling wine from remowned wine-maker Grakham Beck, affectionately known as the ‘President’s Choice’ because it was served at both Nelson Mandela’s and Barack... Obama’s inaugurations. Made with the Méthode Cap Classique (identical to the traditional method used to make Champagne) and a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Great value for all of us who love the taste of Champagne – but not the price. Fresh but creamy. Full of lime and citrus flavours – it’s got a lovely brioche richness from its second fermentation in the bottle.

Taittinger Les Folies de la Marquetterie NV

Taittinger is the Champagne of the moment as their commitment to quality has seen the market price of recent releases of their premium Comte de Champagne increase by 30-35% over the last... year. Follies de la Marquette is not really NV as it is aged in bottle for 5 years before release and all comes from grapes grown from vineyards that surround Chateau de La Marquetterie, Taittingers historic home. The blend is 45% Chardonay & 55% Pinot Noir. It has immense richness and complexity with fine delicate bubbles – peaches, apricots, brioche & a hint of vanilla with a long distinctive finish. A gorgeous Champagne of the highest quality and at a modest 12.5% Alcohol.
